Welcome to our new members, and welcome back to those that joined us last year. We hope you all had a good summer. On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, we will begin our Fall program for our Men’s Faith group at St Denis.
Purpose: To enrich the lives of Men by providing opportunities for men to enjoy a sense of brotherhood and spiritual growth. Our study focuses on Jesus’ words and example in the Gospel, as well as trusting in the gifts of the Holy Spirit to help us through our journey in this life, with the goal of Pursuing the Way, the Truth, the Life.
Agenda: “Metanoia”, a program with Father Dave Pivonka and available on WildGoose.TV. A description of the program is posted below.
Expectations:
Watch a 25 – 30 minute video prior to attending our meeting, as we will discuss the video during the meeting.Note that there are ten episodes in this program, and we will cover an episode each meeting. We expect to complete the program in ten meetings.
There is also a Study Guide for Metanoia. There is an introduction, as well as one page for each of the episodes. The Study Guide provides a Synopsis, Key Texts, Discussion, and Reflection relevant to the specific episode. It would be helpful to read through the respective episode page prior to attending our meetings, spending a little time reflecting on the episode. The study guide is on the Metanoia webpage. However, I have also attached a PDF copy of the Study Guide to this email.
Meeting Dates:The 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month – the tentative Metanoia schedule is included below. No worries if you miss a meeting or two; as you can still watch the videos. If you miss a meeting, just join us for the next meeting.

Excerpt from the press release announcing Metanoia last year, providing a short description of the program:
Metanoia: A Journey With Christ Into Conversion from the producers of The Wild Goose
Let well-known author, international speaker, and president of Franciscan University Father Dave Pivonka, TOR, guide you through the Holy Land into a more profound understanding of Jesus’ deep and abiding love and his call to conversion.
Metanoia is a new 10-part documentary series from The Ministry of the Wild Goose and 4PM Media. Through captivating stories and beautiful cinematography, the series, filmed on location in the Holy Land, leads viewers on an inspirational journey of grace, hope, repentance, and transformation.
Throughout the series, the episodes will unpack the meaning of metanoia. The Greek word means conversion but also to change, to repent, to turn, and to think differently.“As Christians, we are entreated to live an ongoing life of metanoia,” Father Dave explained. “This series invites us to a deeper and more profound conversion—a metanoia—that moves us from something to someone, as metanoia ultimately turns us to Jesus.”
The half-hour episodes showcase the grand landscape and architecture of the Holy Land alongside stories of encounter and conversion from a Jewish convert, a biblical scholar, an Eastern-Rite sister, and many others. Granted access to the most beautiful and sacred locations in the Holy Land, the production crew captured the essence of metanoia on film.
