Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, One of my fondest memories is the Eucharistic Procession, also known as the Corpus Christi Procession. This involves carrying the Blessed Sacrament in a monstrance around the streets of the parish. The idea was to remind us that our Christian life wasn’t constrained within the walls of a physical church but belonged to our everyday life. Traditionally all the first communion children participated in wearing their outfits. Also, the local clergy and Religious would walk along with the members of all the parish organizations. The processional reminded me that we were single people of faith. That we belonged together and that we were walking together through life. I want to re-institute this beautiful tradition. This year we will have (weather permitting) a Corpus Christi procession which will take place on June 19th, Father’s Day. It will take place immediately following 10 AM Mass at Saint Catharine’s School and proceed a short distance to Saint Catharine church concluding with benediction, which will take place on the main steps. Could I please ask you to make a real effort to attend? This will be a wonderful witness to your own family and the surrounding community. I’m truly looking forward to seeing you there. With Love and Blessings, Father Damian
